Exthand: The History of Exthand Scissors

A Breton invention

The Exthand scissors are the result of the invention by an ergo-designer named Julien Gandon working in Brittany. Having several family members working in the hairdressing field and complaining of pain in their hands, wrists, and shoulders while handling a pair of scissors all day, he decided to look into the matter.

The idea of ringless scissors then began to take shape. This product would combine practicality, ergonomics, and medical aspects of scissors with an innovative design. To complete his project, Julien Gandon needed five years of research and development in collaboration with health professionals, observing gestures and hairdressing.

Thanks to a natural grip without rings, Exthand scissors allow hairdressers to maintain a perfect position during cutting. Shoulders are not strained, the wrist remains in line with the arm, and elbows are close to the body.
It guarantees maximum comfort.

A UNIQUE DESIGN

Exthand is the only pair of scissors for hairdressing professionals that says goodbye to rings! Fingers are free and movements become natural.
Everything has been designed so that the ringless scissors become one with the hand. The silicone grips are specially designed for optimal comfort, perfectly fitting the shape of the fingers.
If the design is surprising for professionals, it is even more so for salon clients! Many are surprised by the new cutting style of their hairdresser. For many users of Exthand scissors, it is an important element to stand out from the competition!
