At Tondeo, there are 4 shapes of scissors characterized by different ergonomic features:
- The Classic shape has identical construction for the lower and upper blades. The rings are therefore aligned.
- The Chiro shape is distinguished by an optimized blade/branch ratio with a lever effect. The older Tondeo scissors models from before the 2000s were of the Chiro shape.
- The Offset shape features offset rings for a better grip. It is the most recommended shape, most often used, and promotes good cutting postures.
- The Craene shape is very rare; it allows for an ergonomic hold of the hair scissors, relieving the hand, arm, and shoulder.
It is important to have a good grip on your Tondeo scissors during your cuts; otherwise, over time, you risk adopting poor cutting postures, which can lead to tendonitis.
Indeed, by maintaining a poor posture during your cuts, your muscles are constantly working. It is advisable to use ergonomic scissors to avoid unnecessary strain during your cuts.
Let’s not forget that most of the time you often adopt the same postures when cutting hair. Once bad habits are formed, it is difficult to change them.
That’s why we recommend carefully choosing the shape of your hair scissors according to your cutting habits. Our partner Tondeo has been an expert in the manufacture of hair scissors for nearly 90 years, with every shape and contour of their scissors crafted in the smallest detail to ensure you are as comfortable as possible with your scissors.
